What is Activator Methods Chiropractic Technique?

At Mend Chiropractic we use a range of techniques specific for each individual patient, but a tool we often call on is an Activator. In 2013 Dan became one of the few chiropractors in Sydney who are Advanced Proficiency Rated in Activator Methods Chiropractic Technique. But what is Activator Methods?

Activator Methods uses a small spring loaded instrument to provide a low force but high velocity thrust to a specific area, usually a restricted spinal joint, aiming to increase joint motion.  Activator adjustments are usually comfortable and are great for people who don’t like, or can’t have, manual chiropractic adjustments. Activator adjustments can be used throughout the entire spine, as well as peripheral joints such as shoulders, knees and hips, and sometimes in tight muscles too.

Activator is one of the most widely-researched chiropractic techniques with 23 clinical trials to support its efficacy. Activator Methods has published hundreds of clinical and scientific peer-reviewed papers, worked with major academic research institutions, and received grants from recognised entities like the USA’s National Institutes of Health. For more info, you can read about their clinical trials at https://www.activator.com/research/clinical-trials/.
