Mend Chiropractic is the longest-serving chiropractic practice operating in Glebe, and an Australian Chiropractors Association (ACA) member practice. Since 2007, we have been committed to finding the source of your symptoms and keeping you moving and performing at your very best.
We use a range of gentle, evidence-based techniques to promote the proper movement and alignment of your spine. Our goal is to improve the function of your spine to support the healing process, and assist you to maintain these changes in the long term.
People often begin care due to back, neck or other joint pain, headaches, sciatica or postural concerns. We aim to boost your wellbeing wherever you’re at, help you maintain a healthy lifestyle and do the things you love to do.
Your care is unique to you. And we recognise that you’re the boss when it comes to how you decide to use chiropractic care. We aim to give you the best possible information and service, and help you make your own informed decisions about chiropractic and your health.
At Mend Chiropractic we use a variety of techniques to help you be at your best. We focus on using gentle, comfortable, ‘lower force’ techniques as our first approach to care. Where possible, we aim to use speed in the place of heavy force.
While some of our techniques make the noises, most don’t. Activator Methods Chiropractic Technique uses a small hand-held instrument that delivers a precise, powerful thrust to make changes in the body, while often being barely discernible to the patient.
Initially, during ‘Relief Care’ our goal is to get you more comfortable, to stabilise your initial complaint and health concerns.
Visits become less frequent as we move towards ‘Corrective Care’, where we aim to correct any underlying problems, improving spinal function, and promoting healing of involved tissues.
The majority of clients at Mend Chiropractic Glebe choose ‘Performance Care’ for themselves and their families, maintaining a healthy spine and nerve system, catching small problems before they turn into big ones, and helping them stay at their best.
We provide lifestyle advice specific to you, to help you avoid recreating any problems and to be as healthy as possible. We focus on what’s important for you, whether that’s diet, pillows, ergonomics or otherwise.
We give stretches and exercises when appropriate to help you look after things yourself.
We work with other practitioners in the Glebe community, so we can let you know who you can see if we think someone else can help you.
We’re very inclusive! We see people of all ages and all backgrounds. Some are in severe pain, some have no pain and are looking to optimise their health. Over the years our patients have included pro athletes, world champions, weekend warriors, GPs, specialists, CEOs, creatives, musicians, students, academics, adults, kids, pregnant women and everyone in between!
Most people begin care because of acute or chronic pain or stiffness, including:
Back Pain – Back pain can affect every aspect of your life. Whether it’s your low back or higher up in your thoracics, back pain is one of the leading causes of time off work, and it often makes it harder for us to sleep, exercise and harder to be the person we want to be with our friends and family.
Neck Pain – Neck pain is often related to headaches, migraines, shoulder or arm pain, or postural problems. Neck pain often makes it more difficult to work, exercise, sleep and enjoy time with your family and friends.
Headaches or Migraines – There are many different types of headaches, varying in the cause, intensity, and frequency. They can affect every aspect of your life and make it hard to work, exercise, or look after your family.
Other Joint Pain – We have experience dealing with people with a range of peripheral problems, including shoulders (especially rotator cuff and AC joint issues), elbow and wrist pain (such as tennis elbow or carpal tunnel), hip and knee and ankle pain (such as gluteal tendinopathy, runners knee or plantar fasciitis), as well as TMJ issues.
Posture – Many people notice they stick their chin forward or slump forward. This can often be related to stress, computer/screen use, or a sedentary lifestyle. Poor posture can often result in a tight neck and shoulders, reduced spinal mobility/flexibility, or several other symptoms throughout the body.
