What To Expect

How We Work

Your care is unique to you. And we recognize that you’re the boss when it comes to how you decide to use chiropractic care.  We aim to give you the best possible information and service, and help you make your own informed decisions about chiropractic and your health.

Our Techniques

At Mend Chiropractic we use a variety of techniques to help you be at your best. We focus on using gentle, comfortable, ‘lower force’ techniques as our first approach to care. Where possible, we aim to use speed in the place of heavy force.

While some of our techniques make the noises, most don’t. Activator Methods Chiropractic Technique uses a small hand-held instrument that delivers a precise, powerful thrust to make changes in the body, while often being barely discernible to the patient.

Stages Of Care

Initially, during ‘Relief Care’ our goal is to get you more comfortable, to stabilize your initial complaint and health concerns.

Visits become less frequent as we move towards ‘Corrective Care’, where we aim to correct any underlying problems, improving spinal function, and promoting healing of involved tissues.

The majority of clients at Mend Chiropractic Glebe choose ‘Wellness Care’ for themselves and their families, maintaining a healthy spine and nerve system, catching small problems before they turn into big ones, and helping them stay at their best.

What Else We Do

  • We provide lifestyle advice specific to you, to help you avoid recreating any problems and to be as healthy as possible.  We focus on what’s important for you, whether that’s diet, pillows, ergonomics or otherwise.
  • We give stretches and exercises when appropriate to help you look after things yourself.
  • We work with other practitioners in the Glebe community, so we can let you know who you can see if we think someone else can help you.

Your wellbeing is our priority

Dear friends

At Mend Chiropractic, your health and wellbeing has always been our focus. At this unprecedented time, we will be taking additional steps to protect you.

Hand sanitiser is available in the waiting room and the treatment room, and we encourage everyone to use it before and after their appointment.

Appointments will be spaced out to allow for extra cleaning through the practice and to minimise your time spent in the waiting room.

We will not charge a cancellation fee if you are unwell and unable to attend your appointment.  If you are unwell, please stay at home.

New patients will be asked additional questions at the time of booking. This will protect the health of existing patients.

We will no longer be using pillows in the practice. Adjustments will use the headpiece of the table only, which can be cleaned thoroughly between patients.

We will of course continue to follow the directions of NSW Health with respect to cleaning hands, covering coughs/sneezes and staying at home if unwell.

Circumstances are changing quickly, and we’ll send out updates as needed. In the meantime, stay well and keep your immunity strong by exercising, eating well and getting plenty of sleep. And if you’re working from home, invest in good ergonomics and have regular breaks from sitting/screens.

Keep well and let’s look after each other.

Dan

Is binge-watching giving you a backache?

There’s no denying that we live an increasingly sedentary lifestyle, spending hours each day sitting at desks or curled up on couches watching TV. The average Australian spends 2 hours and 25 minutes a day watching television. And if you’re slouching or poorly aligned, you may be putting additional strain on your spine, hips or shoulders.

Here are some things you can do to keep your spine happy while watching television:
